KxS (Kei Kimura + Kazuhide Shibata), consists of a musician and a visual designer who commenced their work together as artists in 2018 to make new representations of live music performance using original devices and acoustic instruments such as saxophone and pianica. They are based in Gifu Prefecture, Japan.
Their work, VideoLooperSystem, aims not only to express sound-looping, but to enable viewers to see which part is looping or stopping via real-time moving-image-processing using an original foot controller. This work received the Grand Award of Entertainment, Student Category at the Asia Digital Art Award 2018.
